Jono's 12-Week Transformation
The training principles and lifestyle tips I acquired in my time spent training with ASP have been invaluable to my current health and wellbeing. All of which I still live by today as an ASP trainer myself, as I strive to aid my clients to also achieve their best.
- Being a natural ectomorph, Jono had been skinny all his life. He had previously trained with a personal trainer for over a year with little changes to his physique, body composition nor his aim of weight gain.
- The main issue we identified was that he wasn’t given the right protocols for his nutrition, nor was he training correctly for his body type. Specifically, one change we made was to drastically increase Jono’s carbohydrate and calorie intake, but also make sure he was absorbing all that nutrition for optimal growth. Being an ectomorph, he utilizes carbohydrates very efficiently and this would be his preferred source of fuel. We also focused on peri-workout nutrition, making sure his nutrients were best absorbed.
- His workouts were also constantly changed as Jono adapted to programs quite easily. We did a lot of cycling between strength and hypertrophy work, with each phase seeing his physique and strength progress.
- Within 7 weeks on the new protocols, Jono had already put on 8kgs of lean mass! This was more than what he had put on within a year! From this, you can see just how important customizing protocols is to the individual results – specific tools for specific results!
